Arena Americas Awarded Best Achievement in Event Rental Support at 2016 Special Event Gala Awards
The Gala Awards have been given by Special Events Magazine since 1986 and recognize the most exciting event work from companies worldwide. For the 2016 Gala Awards, the magazine received entries in 35 categories from nine countries. Arena Americas was nominated for and awarded Best Achievement in Event Rental Support for the U.S. Open Championship at Chambers Bay in University Place, WA.
The U.S. Open Championship celebrated its 115th anniversary June 18-21, 2015 and saw over 235,000 spectators for the four day tournament. Arena began installation in March 2015 of over 300 clearspan structures totaling 400,000 square feet, over 550,000 square feet of leveled elevated flooring, custom window and glass panels, over 190 single and double glass doors, carpet and other floor coverings, lighting, liners and furniture.
The structures were utilized for Corporate Hospitality, Merchandise, Sponsor and Media facilities, as well as Concessions, Admissions and Security areas. Arena also installed a double decker structure that provided over 28,000 square feet of interior space and 600 feet of unobstructed viewing. This was the first two story structure of this type to be installed in the United States.
