The agreement runs for several years and includes the support services of Arena Americas for the 2020 Ryder Cup at Whistling Straits in Kohler, WI.
Paul Bryant, Arena Americas CEO, said, “The PGA of America has been providing premier spectator golf events since 1916 and is an organization that values partnerships with its tournament sponsors and service providers. Our organization is delighted to have been awarded the business in support of these events. Our employee base is looking forward to servicing the PGA’s unique structural tenting needs including flooring and carpeting for years to come.”
The allocation of labor and equipment to the 2017 venues has already been scheduled as construction begins as much as 2-3 months in advance of the week-long competitions. Total construction time is a function of several variables including weather, access points, topography of the course, and the location and size of the structures. The PGA Championship alone will require approximately 250 individual tenting structures to support patrons, sponsors, players, media, rules officials, hospitality, food caterers, ticketing, and concession areas.
